Apollonian Sun at High Noon

The ant’s inscrutable path
Winds toward the sidewalk crack,
And she crosses without a look—

As if there were no crack,
Nor sidewalk whatsoever, nor ant
Except the movement of the ant—

Her sand-grain step,
Silhouette-bereft, devoid of trace,
Precise nonetheless.

I thought the original title was better, why take away the punch of that line?
